Hotels and Resorts Marketing

We’ve been proud to support the marketing of national training initiatives that bridge the gap between education and the world of work. From elevating management training standards, to equipping students and graduates with real-world employability skills, our projects in this sector have one thing in common: driving ambition forward. Whether the audience is undergraduates, employers or future professionals, we bring strategy, clarity and creative impact to every campaign.

Key Projects:

Challenge of Industry Conference

The Challenge of Industry Conferences were two-day events held in schools across the UK, designed to give 15-16-year-olds valuable insights into the world of work. Each event began with a guest speaker, sharing their personal career journeys and offering an introduction to their business/industry sector and the paths that led them to their current roles.

However, the core of each conference was a series of practical workshops, with ten employers participating across the two days. Pupils were split into small groups and guided by advisors from local industries through interactive sessions designed to build essential workplace skills, including communication, teamwork, and action-centred leadership. These hands-on workshops delivered an engaging, real-world learning experience that left a lasting impact.

The conferences created a unique opportunity for pupils, teachers, and visiting employers to collaborate. They gave young people a first-hand understanding of the workplace, beyond traditional classroom learning, and an insight into the skillsets needed to thrive in a professional environment.

Each session was a carefully balanced mix of fun, practical exercises and training, leaving pupils with greater confidence, renewed motivation, and a stronger belief in their own potential.

The Student & Graduate Industrial Societies (SIS & GIS)

The Student Industrial Society (SIS) is a national student-led organisation focused on enhancing employability and bridging the gap between education and the workplace. Operating across UK universities, SIS organise on-campus workshops, training programmes, and employer-led events where students can interact with recruiters and learn about career paths. This initiative supports students with real-world skills and meaningful connections to industry.

Building on the success of SIS, MJM’s MD Anita Jones founded the Graduate Industrial Society, thus extending the same mission to post-university life, supporting graduates with career guidance, skills development, and industry networking opportunities.

Both the above initiatives, as well as the ‘Challenge of Industry’ Conferences, were part of the youth development programmes delivered by The Industrial Society, under the inspirational leadership of Dame Julia Cleverdon, who was the Industrial Societies Director of Education and Inner Cities at the time.
